Bismuth Pyrophosphate, Bi4(P2O7)3

Bismuth Pyrophosphate, Bi4(P2O7)3, has, however, been prepared by the action of bismuth trioxide on molten microcosmic salt.6 It is a white, amorphous powder, almost insoluble in water but decomposed by it. A complex salt, sodium bismuthipyrophosphate, Na(BiP2O7).3H2O, been prepared by dissolving bismuth pyrophosphate in sodium pyrophosphate. In this compound the bismuth appears to form part of the anion.
